I agree, but I dont think that's really the case with the ZL1 Add On diffuser. Although I doubt it's wind tunnel tested, I bet they did some testing.
I hope it was not designed for looks, it looks bad :-) But it does seem to be designed for durability, functionality and ease of install, like most of their stuff.
