As others said, snow/ice mode is the most limited out of the box. Have you tried it? Was the car still too powerful or the throttle too responsive even in that mode? My recollection of the V6 is that it won't lurch or spin the tires unless you really want it to...

Even if handheld "tune switchers" do exist, I wouldn't use them, because if they rewrite the tune every time you "switch", I'd be concerned about flash storage wear inside the ECM.

On the other hand, an OBD-II device can modify inputs or generate fake ones, theoretically it could also reduce performance. However, so far I've only heard of power boosters such as RaceChip, but even that is only available for the I4
