My 99 Z28 has over 200k on the clock, original LS1 motor still ran fine before I swapped it out for an LS3. No knocking, no pinging, just dripped a bit of oil from the rear main seal but otherwise she was a clean machine and I by no means was nice to that machine., the A4 had to be swapped out before that though.

I agree though GM really needs to do a better job at owning up to its failures. I had a terrible run in with them when my power steering failed a few months after getting my car. They kept negating the issue and put me through hoops in getting it fixed. I ended up suing them and won. But it didn't come without a haggle of headaches. If it wasn't for the Camaro, I would 'not' be a GM fan. Its a tough bondage. I love my SS but it is not the most reliable car I have ever owned. I am probably going to move away from GM after this car though. I will just keep it instead of trading it.
