What I mean with the heat-shrink is as below. Ford did this with the TiVCT sensor connectors after the first season of competition of their Boss 302R/S cars as they were finding that engine vibrations from sustained high RPM's would cause continuity/resistance changes and create minor power losses. For the street cars, the connectors were changed for 2013MY+ 5.0L's (Coyote and Road Runner) and the race cars got their connectors heat-shrink tube wrapped.
