You can always take it off.
Every time I empty my Elite can, there's a few more ounces of gunk that isn't coating my blower and coking my valves - well worth the piece of mind for the highly unlikely event I need to remove it for major warranty claim (which is retarded because a properly installed closed loop catch can has ZERO impact on engine tuning/reliability, and if anything improves performance over time because of valve coking and possible pre-ignition)
Catch cans are a must on any boosted engine.

I noticed on my car that there are 3 bolts on the supercharger lid that have blue paint marker lines on them that won't be there if i removed them. Does anyone else have that as well?

That's common to indicate they were torqued, has nothing to do with warranty, you're being paranoid
