They say the hybrids have low depreciation, while that may be true today, 5 years from now the overwhelming amount of hybrids on the road and the significant maintenance costs once they get some miles on them will change that picture. Once people start having to replace batteries, those hybrid resale prices are going to drop significantly. Their analysis doesn't take into account these realities. In a few years the market will be so flooded with hybrids, it won't make any sense to pay top dollar for a used one.
