I used to pick up lazer signals in my area as well, but I haven't picked up one yet. I know they still use them in BC, but maybe not as often? Dunno.
Anyway, just know that radar detector or lazer shifting can only do so much. I use mine mostly for avoiding petty speeding tickets(as in less than 20 km/h or 13 MPH over the limit), and to figure out where cops tend to hide(which Waze does, as some mentioned). I know someone who is training to become an officer and he told me that at least in Canada, they are trained to be able to eyeball your speed to a certain extent, so if you are going like 40 km/h or 25 MPH over, they still know.
