I did the 1 7/8 BBK and made plenty of power (somewhere near 875 rwhp) on my Camaro. You still have to push the exhaust thru a 3" collector so I think unless you want to make 900 rwhp and up the 2" is not needed. I'm using Speed Engineering 1 7/8s on my 16 Vette. Smaller the primary the more torque you produce, larger is less. Your restriction is behind the collector. Bigger is not always better
