Thinking back, I was pretty sure he DIDN'T want to sell the car but (likely) his wife told him to get rid of because he wasn't driving it. "See, honey, I tried to sell the car but no one will buy it".
Wonder if this situation is the same?

If it is, the cat is definitely out of the bag if he was using this thread as proof to his wife that he was trying to sell the car.
