I had a 15' Z/28 that had a stg 5 kit from Vengeance Racing on it. With almost 700 hp it was fast and handled well. Never tracked it and won't track my ZL1 either. Why did I sell it? I wanted more creature comfort as well as better handling and ride. My ZL1 would smoke the Z/28 with it's 10 speed and handles even better. I really like all the features of the ZL1, especially the Hud. The 10sp w/ paddle shifters is a hoot to drive. In sport mode the engine is constantly in the power band always knowing what gear to be in. Can't say enough good about the tranny. The magnet ride is much better and changes with the mode you are in.

Many talk about collectability of the Z/28. Are you willing to wait that long? Cars are not good investments, if that's on your mind for owning it. Yes, they are more rare than the ZL1 but, so aren't the ZL1E. In the end, it's all about your expectations and wants. You need to at least drive one to know. Good luck on your decision.
