It looks cool and increases intake sound, but offers little to no performance increase. Modern cars - not just the Camaro - all have cold air intakes with as efficient of a naturally aspirated intake as possible from the factory. Where aftermarket CAIs shine is on really old cars that take in hot air from the engine bay. But starting in the late 80s, on cars where the intake tube connects to the fender liner, CAIs stopped being effective.
