However, that was a warranty issue. The question then is, did GM make the payment or did the dealership?
In this case, GM has no dog in the fight. The dealership doesn't have to make the payments, especially if they are providing transportation for the O.P. Although, it would be damn nice of them to do so.
Of course, considering the body shop's estimate of what needs done, there is a good argument that the O.P. could retain a lawyer and get the dealership to make ALL of the remaining payments, in lieu of returning the O.P a car with a structural damage classification.
