I haven't driven a ZLE to compare, but I am betting it has closer to the same feeling since it has the newer gen DSSV, but of course not nearly the same rarity. I actually was looking at ZLEs first, but I didn't like the canards and wing on it. Made me feel like I was looking at a car that was the result of a camaro raping a honda or toyota lol. I went and looked at one, but I never bothered to drive it because I couldnt get around the aero. But I gotta admit, I kind of wish I wouldve got the ZLE, because I feel like it wouldve suited me much more from a "feel of the drive" perspective. Oh well, live and learn.

Perhaps maybe you could test drive a ZLE to see if you like it and then trade in your ZL1 for it unless the Z28 really is your thing. Seems like your attracted to that DSSV suspension the most.
