That's part of the problem. It's too dainty of a control for the function, and like any other electric switch it only offers you the choice between all the way off and all the way on. After nine years owning the car we had that had an e-Pbrake I never came to like or even grudgingly appreciate its pushbutton operation. Used it as little as possible. That car's replacement has a proper handbrake.

As good as cars today are in some respects, they're seriously off-putting in others. To the point of insult when electronics are somehow seen as necessary in order for the driver to set his car's parking brake.
