Upon further review...I don't think its a problem. Look at how the Nick is. Its only about a 16th of an inch long and fades away back into the flat undamaged surface. So with a properly sealed gasket where can it leak too? Not like the Nick runs completely across the surface to the next Cyl. I say seal it put the gasket on and torque it to specs. You won't have any issues.
