Questions for all the tuning and A8 experts out there please

1. Car has heads/cam/headers/intake/cai etc, etc. Will tuning the TCM provide more power to the wheels? Will it dyno more hp/tq if TCM is tuned?

2. What is the purpose for tuning the TCM? Is it just for better shifting and changing the shift points?
