I assumed that the monthly Chevrolet data uploads for Engine information will send data about major ECU updates like a tune to the Chevy database.
If so once this data is in there, there's no turning back. If you need warranty work Chevy will check this and see the records. Given the kind of damage a bad tune can do like cracking or melting pistons and breaking rods, or even a good tune making too much power for the stock parts, I think a tune is one of the mods GM hates the most.
