The inverted mohawk would require the entire roof be replaced. Your vehicle safety will be compromised as roof replacement is considered structural by insurance companies. If there was ever an accident with the vehicle and the roof safety came into question, even if it was long after you’d sold the car, it could come back to you and you could be held responsible.
Most reputable shops would not even consider doing this for you.
It’s not whether people think it’s a good idea, it’s that it’s dangerous and puts you at a legal liability risk.
