1. the 305/35/20 is 28.4" tall with a side wall of 4.2" (BTW this is not stock tire size. Stock is 305/30/20. At any rate...
2. a 315/35/17 is 25.7" tall and a side wall of 4.3"
3. You will lose over 2" of height doing this.
Your tire will be spinning a whole bunch more on the big end and will lose top speed. Plus traction will be limited as the tire will be easily be rotated since it is so much shorted.
the perfect tire size for drag racing on a 17" with this car is a 305/45/17.
Not sure if you are aware of the many others running this same set up or if you are trying to accomplish something different???
