You shouldn't have any regret. All SS camaro's are warrantied for track use (well don't know about the convertible). The SS is an amazing machine. It's engineered to take track use. I've seen a few non-1le ss's on the track, and they help inspire me to buy one. I think the 1le difference gets overstated on the forum.
I looked for used 1le's before ordering mine, there were very few and not good values.
