I had extra insurance coverage for the modifications, but it worked out that I was able to actually remove all the custom parts off the 2016 and put the stock parts back on it. So I didnt lose any of the money I spent on the parts since I still have them and put them on the 2019.
Honestly its a little over the top for my tastes also, I usually build the crap out of the engine (700-800 hp) with a lot of chrome and paint and keep the outside of the car more sleek and clean,(see the link in my signature for the 2010 Camaro I built that was featured in magazines and won tons of car shows) but I drive close to a 100 miles a day now..so its more important to keep my engine stock for warranty purposes, so I express my creativity on the outside more than the engine now.
