Kinda late to the party on this, but you want it about 1/2 qt low COLD. When the oil heats up it will expand to the right level.
If you're filling it to "dipstick full" on the oil change, you're really overfilling it.
Do the "baby bottle test" to see how warm the oil is when checking level.
