The excellent Alpha chassis was GM's salvation from the botch job they did on the C7's rear end.

Yeah, that sad thing though is that the rear-end of the Vette can be tamed. Although I didn't have a C7, I had both a C5 & C6 Z06 and both benefited greatly from aftermarket shocks. For the C5, it was the Bilsteins that made all the difference, for the C6, it was the DRM tuned Bilsteins.
Not sure why GM couldn't have figured that out.
Obviously the Camaro engineers are different than the Corvette engineers.
Granted the Alpha chassis is a better starting point than the transverse leaf spring design of the Corvette, but with some effort, they could have done a better job on the Corvette.
