Seems counter intuitive to me. The other suggested studs seem to have even longer bullet like (unthreaded) ends...Anyhow, hope RUQWKR will clarify his post.
Thanks!
Depending on what wheel / spacer (if any) combo, if you want to run stock style CLOSED end lug nuts, you can buy yourself another ~12mm by cutting the bullet nose off. Not every combo would require that of course.

Like the OEM studs, the bullet nose helps with getting the lug straight before engaging the first thread. However, I would hope all of us finger starts the lug nuts enough to ensure no cross-threading. I have ARP's up front with the bullet nose cut off as a just in case I run a wheel / spacer combo and wanted to run the stock style closed lug nuts. I've only been running stock SS / ZL1 1LE 20" / 19" wheels, so, I have not needed the extra threads on the ARP's. I cut the noses off before installing the studs back when I swapped to J6H / ZL1 brakes and was going to have the SS 1LE rotor off the hub.

FYI - I like the looks better with closed end lug nuts and don’t have thread engagement (amount of) issues [14mm or greater for my piece of mind], nor do I have a tech inspection need that some may have.
