Light, low HP car, but that's where wheel weight would make the most difference. Also note, the light wheels are ~30% lighter than the heavy wheels. That's a LOT.
A 30% reduction in wheel/tire weight would be almost 20lbs on a ZL1, for example.

So not nearly as much of a factor as better tires I see... and even less of an effect I bet on a high hp, big brake car like a ZL1 or GT500.
