Mustang dynos are always the lowest or one of the lowest reading, so that is probably the reason. What is the octane of fuel there? Maybe mix in 4 gallons of 100 unleaded and test again--this will eliminate fuel as an issue. Were boost and AFR normal?
Also, you said it was getting some knock and tuner said maybe because it's tuned rich--knock is the OPPOSITE thing you get when rich, knock results from lean AFR (vs. rich AFR), high boost, and/or too much timing. That's why GM tunes the cars rich, to avoid knock in these monster SC motors when customers get bad fuel or even choose 87 at the pump
I would question the tuner's knowledge if they actually said that, it's a basic tuning 101 thing
