Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread, but I'm in almost the same boat as Booher.
However, I have a few questions which may help others new to this HP Tuner tuning.

I took my car to a Performance shop to have the AWE and Kooks connected.
I asked him if he could tune the car also since I just installed the headers, but no CEL yet.

He mentioned he could, but I needed to purchase 3 credits...I know nothing about this HP Tuner stuff and what these credits mean/do.
He said the car is going to be running lean, so do not go WOT until it is tuned, my engine will not appreciate it and valves may start to melt.

Is this true? Do headers make the system run lean?

Another tuner told me this, "Your engine won't be lean at all. Fuel mixture is largely dictated by the MAF, all air flows through it. Any performance improvements from the headers will result in more air flow which will result in more fuel".
So who's telling the truth here?
I feel like I'm watching the news!

Anyway, how is it that Booher needs 4 credits or 5 and I only need 3?
I don't have the wide band sensor, is that the reason why?
I'm a manual as well, so no tranny tuning.
You need 4 to tune the ECM (shown here https://www.hptuners.com/vehicles/). You will need a 5th to tune the FSCM, but you really only mess with that if you want to change how your NPP settings work (assuming you have NPP and want to change the settings).

The second guy is right. Tuning is set by the MAF and your O2 sensors 99% of the time.

Also, while I was tuning mine, I discovered headers and intake made my car run slightly rich, not lean, but it really wasn't a huge amount.
