The $70k truck likely has a 200kwh battery.

Just a few years ago that was a $70k battery.

What this means is tesla has finally figured out a way to massively reduce battery cost. It also means; goodbye internal combustion engine.
Or they are willing to burn through even more money in the hope that someday they will finally figure out how to be profitable.

Tesla produces crappy cars. Their future, if they have one, is in battery manufacturing and software.

Once the major car companies start going all in on electric vehicles, like it appears Ford is doing, there is no way Tesla can compete. Their only hope is to become the battery supplier.

And... slightly off topic... once the reality of battery production and, ultimately, disposal becomes apparent people will look back at oil as the good old days. Just like...

Butter is bad so eat margarine. Oops, turns out margarine is worse.
Paper bags kill trees so use plastic. Oops, turns out plastic bags kill animals.

Battery production and producing the electricity to charge them is way more environmentally unfriendly than internal combustion engines.
