I have the RPI Designs premium rock guards that look very similar and offer practically the same level of protection as the ZL1 Addons product. No side skirts, however (getting into and out of the car without them is already near the edge of my comfort zone).

These guards are essential, they block I'd say about 80-90% of small rocks and pebbles. I shared in another thread that I accidentally lost one of the guards, drove about 25 miles without it before I noticed and that side now has more tiny white rock chips and scratches.

Essential as these guards are, there will still be rocks hitting the rockers and quarter panels, so adding PPF is a good idea. GM does include a tiny piece of vinyl from the factory, and I don't understand why it doesn't cover a larger area, the cost difference would probably be in the single digit range...
