I had a 1.64 60 on one of the passes. I think that's about the best we can do. It's a tricky line you have to balance in order to get the best results with TM. You still have to roll into the throttle very quickly. If you are too fast, your 60 will suffer. Likewise, if you're too slow, it suffers. The crazy thing is, big Dave has gotten some 1.66 and 1.67 60s on the street tires! I've gotten a 1.69 on them. So a tire doesn't really improve the capability of the car. They just make it easier to consistently get good 60s.
Here's my theory on TM. It is always at play, not fully opening the throttle body until the car has hit a certain speed. I've seen where someone said it does this in 1st and 2nd gears. Maybe they've seen this in some data logs. Anyway, I think as long as you don't get too aggressive, like trying to mat it off idle, which would spike the torque load, TM will continue opening the TB. If you cross that line, then I feel TM closes the TB for a split second and then starts opening it back up, thus a slower 60 any time I've tried matting it off the line.
