I can confirm this information is accurate. GM defines excessive oil consumption as
more than 1 quart of oil per 2,000 miles. The oil consumption test involves having the oil level in your vehicle checked every 2,000 miles for 6,000 miles.
With that said, both my 2018 SS and 2019 SS have consumed no oil between oil changes.
