Mate, the ZL1 A10 will also have to downshift just like the SS A8 if you go pedal to the metal, at what point during daily driving is the fraction of a second it takes to downshift too much to put up with in order to "overtake with authority"? If you're roll racing, sure, put it in manual in 3rd around 3000rpm, but when you slam it and it reaches 6k rpm you're better off flicking the shifter back to auto rather than use the peddles anyway. I can somewhat understand that you feel the throttle response isn't the best (but either way you shouldn't expect to just break the sound barrier just giving a little throttle) but why don't you then just install a new throttle body and/or get a throttle controller? A new TB costs maybe 4-500, a sponsor on here specializes in them and even has a policy that you can return the thing if you're not happy, the install can be done by anyone with 0 mechanical experience in less than an hour and doesn't require a tune, and a throttle controller will cost maybe 100 at most. Just opt for that first cause honestly you'll probably end up in a wall in a ZL1.
