Long Term A8 Shudder Damage

I'm sure many of you are going through the A8 shudder, just like I am.

I've had the shudder pretty bad for the last year and a half on and off. I'd say my shudder was pretty severe - sounded like you were driving over rumble strips. The dealership did one flush in 2018 which temporarily fixed the shudder.

A couple months later the issue popped up again and the dealership told me that another flush would be $500 cash since I was past my powertrain warranty.

I've been educated recently on the shudder, and how it's related to the Torque converter. Apparently the shudder comes from aeration and over time will lead to permanent damage.

Apparently an aftermarket torque converter is the appropriate permanent fix for the A8 shudder and GM is just reaching around and screwing everyone over by putting a bandaid on the problem till everyones warranties expire.

Is it worth getting the upgraded torque converter? How much of a difference will it really make and how much of a difference does it make with 0-60 times?
