So just wondering.. Are you going to install the Maggi and your ported Edelbrock on your 416 car.
I mean you got to, RIGHT! Both blowers need to be installed on the same car same dyno.. I know its a number, but in reality if it goes on to the same car and for track testing and if they have the same traction the higher HP with same IATs should win theoretically or at least have the edge..( hence same traction, more power may mean it spins easier)
You know if the Edelbrock makes more power the maggi boyz will be like that's because its ported. LOL. I think the IATs will be lower or equal to the Maggi now on a ported Edelbrock according to what Greg told me. (if they aren't all ready no ones really tested that independently on the same car either.. More flow less IATs or time for the air to heat the #1 killer for the eforce LS3 2300 it had nothing to do with size of the core it was long ass runners that were great for torque but shitty for IATs the air basically slowed and allowed more time to heat up! Now that the flow is increased on the Eforce 2650 it ought to be better or eqaul to! If i have to be criticized that my blower needed porting to compete who the blank cares.. I take that in the Azz!
Just googled price of the Maggi I find 5995.00(plus 199.00 for 103mm TB and on the Edelbrock I see 4823 at summit.. Plus summit has 10% coupon that makes it 4300 something with free ship..and comes setup for a 103mm
Porting is 1500.00 at worst which makes the cost equal, having to buy different valve covers or cutting/grinding the oem's seems more of a pain than having to clearance a hood on a zl1(which is very simple and doesn't look all that bad) and if done like LPE I think the pain would be worth it who doesn't like carbon!
Now it boils down to the fuel system for people that do not want to rely on meth other than cooling purposes or running race gas.. And people that have e85 on every corner like me!
Both kits will work with LPEs setup
Both kits will work with Katech's setup
1 kit works for port injection as of now and is easy as hell
I was so close to getting the Katech setup it was stupid.. I wasn't 100% sure that 6ms would be enough time to make big power for MY DYNO QUEEN LOL! or that a DSX lower pump would fuel it. Uwe himself could not even answer if the DSX would be enough. On the LPE stuff I made a mistake I should of used a 42% lobe not a 38% but I though 800s on e85 would be ok.. well it wasn't I want 900s now I tried to get there but fuel pressure was dropping off. I sent the tune files to LPE because I wanted to know why it wasn't doing as it claimed or what I saw(930 on e85) and the tuner said 73 psi isn't enough that's why you have the rail pressure drop.. He said you need 100 psi and 80 continuously.. that would mean dropping the tank and putting in 2 525 Lph pumps, regulator, and new line to the rails using the old line as a return.. (you can see all this on the LPE sema Continental build video where they drop the tank) There is also a restriction that i had to take care of in the ck valve that needs addressing that you don't see..
I got to thinking thats 2500 bucks for a badass low side and the Katech setup may need the same thing.. I was like hell that's half the cost of port injection I might as well do that since we all ready know its proven!
