I also know that more torque generally means better acceleration, but, how would I get the best acceleration off of a roll, sometimes I get good ones while in the lowest gear, and sometimes I don’t, does that mean I should floor it while at 4400 RPM to get the best acceleration possible? I think horsepower usually means high end speed like in the higher RPM range I’m guessing, like 455 HP @ 6000-6500 RPM? How do I get the best acceleration possible off of rolls? I’m still trying to learn it.
Yes, scold me for my lack of knowledge and for having an SS badge.
I know I’m the most inexperienced and noobiest Camaro owner/member on this site, I just wanna keep learning more! I’d love to keep learning more and more from the Camaro family here!

find some stock LT1 dynographs. it’ll give you a better idea of what’s going on. they make strong tq as low as 2k rpm, which is good for just driving around, i suppose.

^ What s346k said. Check out the torque/hp curve below, you'll see that while 4400 rpm does yield max torque, you don't want to floor it at that rpm in this car, because you'll immediately go onto the heavy downward slope of the torque curve.
I'd say shoot for 3300-3500, that is, flip the lever to manual mode, shift down to the gear that puts you into this rpm range (might need to adjust your pedal position a bit), floor it, then flip the gear lever back to D before you hit the rev limiter (!) and just keep the pedal floored. The A8 will power shift for you and keep you in the powerband as much as it can.
Of course, you should never exceed any applicable speed limit while doing so, and experiment with no cars, crossroads, pedestrian crossings, medians etc. around. You don't want to be that guy.
