The Edelbrock 2650-equipped car broke the transmission during the run and still went 8.99, the car that you are talking about with the race 2300R Magnuson on a 416 motor has also broken a transmission before, but not during his 9.07 pass. Seems that this much power/torque is making things hard on the stock transmissions under hard use.
