Yes, but I didn't add individual resistors, instead I bought the
reverse light harness from Gen5DIY, and it has a heat shield around the (single big kahuna) resistor, plus I tucked in so it only ever touches the body and never any plastic trim or wiring.
Never gave me any problems and I've had both this thing and the turn signal LED's on the car for over a year now.
