Because sometimes the reality of a situation does creep out prior to the official news.
Back in 2000/2001 there were rumors the F-body 4th Gen's were being killed off and no replacement planned, and those came out, at first, from long lead suppliers and aftermarket companies.
It was another year to 18 months before GM confirmed they were indeed killing off the CamaroBird.
