This is the only way to get mine to work and it will be fine for 2-3 different logs then start acting up. My guess is a software glitch.
I have the exact same issue and found the same as the only way to fix it.

It used to work non stop Everytime. Now its hit or miss. Messed up a few logs I was taking because I didn't notice till after that it wasn't logging it.
