LeMans and IMSA officials even admitted to giving the Ford GTs an Edge in Balance of Performance which essentially made the Ford GTs cheater cars. All race teams struggle with BOP, but it is admittedly the only way to "balance" the field. However, uneven application of BOP skews results... .
FGT is really an embarrassment at $500k plus. Cramped interior, V6, no storage, uncomfortable on the road, and smoked by countless less-expensive cars on road courses.
The new Ford GT500 will undoubtedly be a more reasonable car for Ford and its specs will also act to push the competition to respond, etc.
