I have no doubt that a new PS4 will grip better than a used SC3.

Tires have their best grip after about 300 miles as the mold wears off and the rubber is fresh with little number of heat cycles. As tires age and wear down, the handling gets better (less tread squirm) and the grips decreased (more heat cycles).

As to the OP's question. Depends on what you are looking for in a tire. You want better rain performance, go with the PS4, you want better grip with higher G loads, go SC3.

The difference you pay in price is off-set by the tire longevity. PS4's will last longer, but you are paying more for that extra life. You pay less for the SC3 and you get less life, but it all balances out when you factor price/wear as a whole.
Wasn't quoting old vs new, was quoting new vs new. The SC3 were useless till warm, as I expected. The P4S on the street have the same grip and don't require 20-30 min of street driving to get have traction.
