i'd go through the insurance dude. unless you got money to throw at the repairs. who cares about the car fax.

your insurance will probably go up. you can always shop around or make your deductible higher in order to lower your premium.

I switched to a $2,000 premium after my accident last year and that lowered my premium back to what it was before the accident occurred.

think about it, $500 premiums are for people that don't care enough to deal with cars or car repairs. we are not that kind of people, don't feel bad raising your deductible.
