Okay, this tripped me up initially, but your battery may have been just a bit under 12V while you were doing the install (I swapped fuse tap locations at least 3 times, thinking I'd messed up somehow despite what the voltmeter said, before I realized the voltage was a hair too low for the kit to engage parking mode).
Try driving the car for a while with the dash cam installed and running in normal mode, and then parking mode should kick in properly when you kill the engine.
I can take a pic of the DIP switch settings on mine if that helps.
