I, for one, am elated at the idea that it will not have a manual transmission offering. For a car of this type to ascend its previous metrics, it needs to make sure it widens that gap with as much space as possible. Throwing in a manual transmission for a select crowd because they think it’s just the right thing to do, only lowers their potential performance metrics.
I love manual transmission cars but, even I can see the writing on the wall. Future cars with ever increasing performance standards need to have ever increasing manufacturer control parameters. Therein, I don’t believe that a manual transmission fits within GM’s vision for the car.
