It also says to use DEXRON®-HP Automatic Transmission Fluid in the A8 transmission in the 2017 manual which is no longer recommended by GM. Mobil 1™ Synthetic LV ATF HP is now the recommended fluid. Some even have proposed that the original fluid may be part of the reason of the A8 "shudder" that has plagued many owners.
Times change and GM's recommendations have changed to help their products run better, last longer, be more friendly to the environment, etc.
