The 2.7 turbo from the Silverado is intended/designed solely for truck duty, it would be terrible in this car. Even the normal turbo 4 is only 275 hp, way behind everyone else. New Mustang 4cyl is 330hp, Ford Focus RS 350hp, even the new Ranger is 270hp. Mercedes CLA45/GLA45 AMG turbo 4's are currently 375 hp and the new 2020's will be 420hp. VW is speculated to have a 300+ Golf R soon (a 400hp "concept" car was shown just a couple years ago). Volvo S60 Polestar is 360hp. Honda Civic Type R is 306hp. I think there is a lot of powertrain competition between a T4 and V6. I don't believe the next Gen will still have both.

I don't think Chevy will focus much on the 4 banger. I think the 6 is selling more than the 4. And the performance crowd will go V8 anyway. Mustang dumped their V6 thats why they are pushing the 4 banger. Plus all thos little turbo 4 bangers they are pushing are not getting much more gas mileage than our 455hp V8s. 4 bangers are for rollerskate type PODS not Mustangs or Camaros.
