Seriously, very good information! I was always told to avoid heat buildup at all cost during a break-in because it could cause uneven pad wear. I guessing what you're saying is that they must be heated, as long as it's controlled. Your statement about the difference in thermal loads of a standard passenger car compared to a high performance car makes absolute sense so I realize it was naive of me to think the break-in would be the same for the two types of cars.
