Ask any knowledgeable person who races these 6th gens and they will tell you the a8 has quite an edge. A buddy of mine is just starting to get close to my 10.6 bolt on time with his heads cam two step manual at 11.0. And I’m still out trapping him. Maybe he will chime in he’s register here too. When when had similar mods it was around a full second gap.
There are piles of data. Heads cam records between the two are a second apart. Bolt on automatics have been faster than heads cam manuals. Looked down on? Ummm... ok. Guess I really have no clue about that either. I go to the strip constantly and have never seen that.
The only time they are even somewhat close is stock vs stock
I’ve always owned manual till now and can drive them just fine. No regrets with the a8.
For sure gm should offer both. Manuals are fun to drive no doubt. Give people a choice. I don’t find the new autos boring though. Far different from the old slush boxes in every way
