I would think the only way the 3R's could possibly work is if they are cycling the cars through rapidly (so the tires can't cool much) and doing 4+ laps, or you run all the laps at once with no stopping. Otherwise the 3's would be better.
Another thing I just thought of....Does the sanctioning body that is running the event allow UTQG rating of 100? If it's minimum 200 then the 3R's are automatically out.

It’s a super casual event. No rules, just timed laps for fun. I’m not buying new tires......already own the 3s for street driving, and 3Rs for track days. Will be running one of these 2 options.
Thanks for the feedback......that’s kinda what I’m thinking......the base S3s will be better for colder tire temps.
