No special connectors needed, I just slightly modded the the female side of some common electrical spade connectors by opening them up a little to slide on to the terminals in the stock tail light plugs.
The only thing that was "difficult" was figuring out what terminals in the factory plug I needed to connect the positive and negative wires to. That was just a process of elimination.
For power I used a 12 volt adapter that I had in my stash that I had bought a while ago from Amazon for $10.
